Terrance Bell’s – A Healthy Voice
Sometimes in life while trying to cultivate new ideas we should spend time on identifying and perfecting the abilities we already possess. Abilities that are already developed that prompts the rest of the world to sit up and pay attention because it touches us somewhere deeper than the average routine.
Some of us are born with the unique aptitude of having sensational voices. But do we know what it takes not only to be good and excel, but to excel for longevity?
To be vocally superior for a long period of time will take a vast understanding of the human voice! Not only what it consists of and how it works, but what needs to be done to maintain great vocal health.
Educational Facts: The human voice consists of sound made by a human being using the vocal folds, a body part, for talking, singing, laughing, crying, screaming, etc. Its frequency ranges from about 60 to 7000 Hz. The human voice is specifically that part of human sound production in which the vocal folds (vocal cords) are the primary sound source. Generally speaking, the mechanism for generating the human voice can be subdivided into three parts; the lungs, the vocal folds within the larynx, and the articulators.
****Here are 2 tips for singers and speakers!
1. Physical exercise is vital to vocal health and stamina. Doing physical exercises that focus on the core of your body will enable you to do more effective and prominent vocal exercises. This will enable your vocals to be superior for any vigorous vocal work.
2. Avoid using long run-on sentences and a rapid speaking rate that stresses the vocal apparatus; good breath support for conversational speech is every bit as important as good breath support for singing or speaking. (If you don’t know what this means, you should consider taking voice lessons, and/or seeing a voice therapist).
One tool which may be helpful in maintaining your vocal health is A Healthy Voice! A Healthy Voice is producing a series of educational vocal books, reference guides, workshops, vocal fitness material and other information that will help us to better understand our vocals as it relates to the usage of, health and performance. A Healthy Voice will also provide affordable, as well as free (no monetary expense) ways to reach these goals.
My vision of A Healthy Voice may not follow the average plan for vocal health, but A Healthy Voice is not the average idea. It’s something far greater. It is somewhat unconventional, slightly different, a bit innovative and certainly creative. More importantly, it will yield results!
